In school, we learn the fighting strategies and discuss special moves like it was part of the education. It was also exciting to hear people shouting out ‘hadoken’ here and there, though we have no idea what it means and whether the sound is accurate or not (gaming sound technology was not so advance that time). But it was cool, and we make it sound a little ‘Hokkien’, hehe…

i wonder how Ryu can pronounce his hurricane kick so fast...
ReplyDeleteAbout the hurricane kick, I think he doesn't say all that long thing. He can't say it so fast. Anyway, we should ask a Japanese guy for this. But I'm almost sure he does not say "Tatsumaki Senpukyaku". I have my doubts in Chun Li's spinning kick too. Anyway, they rest is soooo true :-D Great job :-)
ReplyDeleteAbout the Sheng Long hurricane kick - if you listen carefully, they definiteyl do say TatsuMakiSenpuKyaku. Just use your ears. :)
ReplyDeleteTwo of the most humorous for me, although I don't think they're from this particular version of SFII (maybe from SUPER SFII which featured T. Hawk and the other new characters), was when Ryu does a hurricane kick is sounds like he says "Looks like I fooled ya!" And from SF Alpha (II?) Ken *seems* to be saying, when he does his charged Dragon Punch, "WHOOO gives a f***!" Anyone else hear it?

ReplyDeleteamazing all my life I try to hear the sound produced by the characters in this game, however I never be capable to do this, is so fast or confused, specially the case of Guile with his Sonic Boom, to me sound like "Ca ri bou"
