Bak Chang

Everyone must be very upset about the recent fuel hike announced. The government has been advising the people to change their lifestyle, stay at home and spend wiser.

Anyway, who cares about changing lifestyle? We still make our own bak chang (rice dumplings) at home. And if you feel that the pasar malam bak chang is too expensive, here are a few ‘simple’ steps on how to wrap bak chang.

Ok first of all, this are the steps to ‘wrap’ only. Sorry lar, didn’t get to witness the ingredient preparation process from the aunties…

Ingredients to be prepared like pork belly, glutinous rice...

Bamboo leaves for wrapping

Have the bamboo leaves face back to back

Fold at the half end

Make it into cone shape

Add glutinous rice (half)

Add some pork meat and belly

Add a final touch of glutinous rice to cover the meat

Squeeze the size so that it will fill all the space

Wrap...

Almost there...

Tie it with strings

Tada! Bak Chang! Of course have to steam it first before you can eat...

Happy Learning!

We are not Space Tourist...

It’s been sometime since I post any photos on my blog. I got so frustrated in my work one day that I happened to snap a photo of my workspace, just to take a break and release some stress. To think about it, this is one of the best workspace compared with all the previous company that I worked with. Though the job might be a little tough and challenging, there is always a pantry for me to relieve and reenergized. Thank God for the nice colleagues and nice boss too! And we are all Angkasawan, because our company is called Angkasa…but nothing to do with the national space program.

Me: ‘Hello, this is Li Zhi from Angkasa…’
Client: ‘Huh? Are you from Outer Space???’
